“Not late, just starting strong”: IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on India’s AI leap

Opposition, civil society groups, and activists have been rallying against Section 44 (3) of the DPDP Act, claiming that it weakens the RTI Act, and demanded immediate repeal. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw took it to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify.

The minister highlighted the global recognition India is receiving in the AI space, referencing a tweet by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, noting the country’s enthusiastic adoption of AI.

MIB extends bidding round duration in FM Phase III e-auctions to boost participation

On April 9, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued Amendment No. 1 to the Auction Rules (dated November 27, 2024) for Private FM Radio Batch III channels e-auction under Phase III.
