Research reports are not ads, clarifies SEBI

The circular states that SEBI-regulated persons must ensure that no associated person or agent gives any direct or indirect advice on securities.

SEBI has clarified that research reports are not classified as advertisements unless they specifically promote products or services provided by the research analyst.
