Paramount and Nielsen sign multi-year measurement and analytics deal across Paramount’s broadcast, cable and streaming platforms

The deal comes on the heels of a number of Nielsen innovations. On February 3, Nielsen announced its Out-of-Home (OOH) measurement now covers 100 percent of the US contiguous television population. Paramount has licensed new Nielsen services as part of the agreement, including Advanced Audiences, Big Data + Panel, Ad-Supported Streaming Platform Ratings, Nielsen ONE Ads for Connected Television, and National out-of-home expansion to inform advertising, programming and licensing strategies.

Ministry of I&B has issued advisory to multi-system operators and local cable operators, notifying the names of Doordarshan channels including- DD National HD, DD News HD, DD Sports HD and DD India HD- to be mandatorily carried by the cable operators.

TV ad volumes declined by 4% in 2024 compared to 2023

Older viewers tend to watch a lot more total TV than their younger counterparts, so the 75% U.S. viewers 65+ spend with linear TV adds up to a lot more hours. There is a similar trend in Thailand with all media types having greater total reach with older audiences than younger generations.

According to a TAM AdEx report, Hindustan Unilever was the top advertiser on television in 2024, with a 16% share of ad volumes.
