Hakuhodo launches martech data labs in India; appoints Shweta Sharma as CEO

Leading the charge as CEO of Hakuhodo Data Labs India is Shweta Sharma, the Chief Business Officer of AdGlobal360 India.

Hakuhodo Data Labs India will be based out of Gurugram. The move is followed by the launch of e-Genie- an omnichannel e-commerce media optimisation platform, developed through a collaborative effort between Hakuhodo Japan and AdGlobal360 Innovation Lab.

A joint report by Bain & Company and Myntra says that over 90% of the top 50 global brands are already present in India. The report claims that India’s lifestyle market will reach $210 billion by 2028 with 18%–22% online penetration.

US govt sues TikTok over child privacy violations

TikTok Live is intended for content creators to interact with their audience in real-time, but the platform’s safety measures have been criticized for being insufficient.

The civil lawsuit is against TikTok owner ByteDance and its affiliates for violations of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. In 2019, the US government sued Musical.ly (also owned by ByteDance) for similar violations.
