The Pokemon brand is also looking to collaborate with multiple licensing agencies for deeper reach in the country.

“We must implement proactive measures, including contextual warnings on apps, to safeguard users from falling prey to these threats. Our responsibility is to create a safe and secure online environment for everyone," Singh said further.

Singh suggested that for better law enforcement, the real time flow of information must be available with law enforcement agencies.

The Indian entertainment sector experiences an annual revenue loss of approximately $2.8 billion due to digital piracy, according to a report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.

Sources have said that Disney Star India will train law enforcement agencies in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Oman and Saudi Arabia to tackle content piracy.
