MIB has written to the TRAI Secretary to take into account AIDCF’S proposal to allow TV distributors autonomy to break broadcast bouquets.

TRAI issues regulations and amendments to protect digital media copyright

Majority of the broadcasters and the members of the Indian Broadcasting and Digital Foundation (IBDF) oppose the TRAI's regulation requiring broadcasters to provide free channels on DD Free Dish to private distribution platform operators (DPOs).

Upon deliberation of the industry stakeholders’ request to extend the date for submission of counter comments, TRAI decided to extend the last date for submission to September 29.

The bill is currently in its initial stages and is most likely to be introduced only after the general elections next year.
