ZEEL’s president of HR and Transformation Animesh Kumar quits

Animesh Kumar’s position will be filled by Dheeraj Jaggi, who has been spearheading Human Resources for the Content SBU. He will assume the role of an acting Chief Human Resources Officer.

Animesh Kumar, who is the President – HR & Transformation, at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, has stepped down from his position. Dheeraj Jaggi, who has been spearheading Human Resources for the Content SBU (one of the largest SBU of the company) and leading Enterprise Culture and Capability Development, will assume the role of an acting Chief Human Resources Officer.

As President HR and Transformation at ZEE, Kumar had been leading a gamut of transformation and culture-driven endeavours ranging from ZEE 4.0 Digital Transformation; DE&I; Employer Branding; Corporate Responsibility and CSR. He was responsible for driving organizational change. Before joining ZEEL in 2018, Kumar was chief people and transformation officer at Future Group India.

ZEE has seen a series of top-level exits in the past few months including the departures of Rahul Johri, President Business- South Asia, Nitin Mittal, President – Technology and Data and Punit Misra, President – Content and International Markets at ZEEL. Furthermore, ZEEL had previously announced a phased restructuring plan, implemented in line with ZEE MD and CEO Punit Goenka’s cost-cutting measures. The plan is to result in a 15 percent workforce reduction. Goenka proposed the implementation of a lean and streamlined management structure to the board on April 5, 2024.
