WPP appoints Philip Jansen as non-executive chair of the board

Philip Jansen was Chief Executive of BT Group from 2019 to February 2024. Before that he was CEO of Worldpay, the technology-led global payments services group.

Philip Jansen will join the Board on 16 September 2024 and will succeed Roberto Quarta as Non-Executive Chair of WPP from 1 January 2025.

Former Mindshare exec Sidharth Parashar sets up Nestassured Realty

Mahindra & Mahindra appoints Manjari Upadhye as chief marketing officer – automotive division

Manjari Upadhye started her career at Colgate Palmolive as senior product manager, and went on to work across Ocean Spray Cranberries, PepsiCo, Mondelez International, Danone Dairy and Amazon.

At Welspun World, Manjari Upadhye’s skills ranged across product innovation, strategy, partner relationship management, marketing strategy, team leadership, P&L management and business modeling.

WPP appoints Brian Lesser as GroupM’s global CEO

Brian Lesser first joined WPP with the acquisition of 24/7 Real Media in 2007. He went on to create the Media Innovation Group, building addressable advertising products and technology for GroupM, including one of the industry’s first data management platforms. In 2011 he founded Xaxis, the programmatic media buying platform which now forms part of GroupM’s media performance organization, GroupM Nexus.

Brian Lesser succeeds Christian Juhl, who is stepping down after five years in the role.
